AARON FRAZER – Introducing… – LP – Translucent Pink Glass Vinyl €22.99 - Aaron Frazer is the singer, drummer and songwriter with Durand Jones and the Indications. On Introducing… – his debut solo album produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, co-released on Easy Eye Sound and Dead Oceans – Aaron melds mid-‘60s soul with Auerbach’s particular sensibilities (Over You), songs with a message in the key of Gil Scott-Heron (Bad News), and uplifting tales of love told through a blend of disco, gospel, and doo-wop (Have Mercy).

McCOY TYNER – Tender Moments (Tone Poet Series) – LP – 180g Audiophile Vinyl €36.99 - On his second Blue Note album Tender Moments (1967) pianist and composer McCoy Tyner explored the colours and textures available in a nonet setting with some of the finest musicians of the time: Lee Morgan on trumpet, Julian Priester on trombone, Bennie Maupin on tenor saxophone, James Spaulding on alto saxophone and flute, Bob Northern on French horn, Howard Johnson on tuba, Herbie Lewis on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums.

SARAH VAUGHAN – Sarah Vaughan (With Clifford Brown) – LP – 180g Audiophile Vinyl €40.99 - On this 1954 eponymous album, recorded for Emarcy, Sarah Vaughan, arguably in the best voice of her career, sings nine intimate standards. The album was later reissued as Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown to signal the involvement of one of the top trumpeters of the day. Brown is on par with her with his bop virtuosity The band, including Herbie Mann on flute, and Paul Quinichette on tenor, have plenty of space for solos.

DONALD BYRD – Byrd In Flight (Tone Poet Series) – LP – 180g Vinyl €36.99 - The high-spirited soloing of trumpeter Donald Byrd and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley on Ghana — the opening track of Byrd In Flight — lets listeners know that they are in for an exceptional musical experience. In addition to Mobley, Byrd is joined by Jackie Mclean on alto saxophone, Duke Pearson on piano, bassists Doug Watkins and Reggie Workman, and drummer Lex Humphries on these sessions from 1960.
